Would you like to be active, but knee problems keep you from it??? Have you been active and suffered a sports or work injury??? Years of overuse can often cause our joints problems as we age. Sometimes we get hurt playing sports or at work. Arthritis sets in as we get older and causes problems as well. My cousin is currently having issues with her right knee and is soon facing surgery. I saw this product and was offered to review and thought "Well we will be needing this". The brace is made by Exous Body Gear and sold by Exous LLC on Amazon. I received this product at a deep discount in exchange of an honest and unbiased review.
This is the third Exous product I have reviewed and I have found their products to be of the highest quality I have seen. This knee brace was not any different. It was made of the same high quality materials as the other products I had reviewed. When I received it, I opened it immediately, checked it out and made the cousin try it on.
She has good days and bad days with her knees, but they tend to hurt worse on her highly active days or when she is walking. Often times in warmer weather we take evening walks with the grandbabies. This has become more and more difficult as my cousins pain tends to get worse as time goes on and the more she walks on it. There are days she has a limp and has quite a bit of trouble getting around. I'm not sure of her diagnosis other than arthritis, but she has been told she would have to have surgery to repair the knee before too long. But she has become less active over the last year because of knee issues.
Now the day I tried it on her she was having some, but not a lot of pain. Her knee was swollen somewhat that day as well. I placed the brace on as instructed and asked for her opinion. She stated her knee felt supported and she was more comfortable (without pain) with its use. I asked if she could bend her knee and she did without difficulty. She said it was a really comfortable brace to be made of such strong high quality materials. It didn't pinch or bunch behind the knee either. So this brace should be a big help in preventing excess pain, to stabilize the knee before and after surgery, and to prevent pain from excess movement. After using it for a few days when she was in pain, she was convinced it helped her on her bad days and she was confident it would help after her surgery.
To tell you about this brace, I must tell you how it is designed. It is made of 3mm high grade neoprene and has a 4 way compression system. The four way compression system includes 2 large straps that anchor the knee brace and 2 smaller cross over straps for patella support and all round compression. It has 2 flexible metal coils that supports both lateral and medial ligaments. It has a comfort gap in the back to avoid pinching or bunching behind the knee. It also has an elastic sleeve you slide your leg into (so the knee shows through the hole) that prevents the straps from rubbing or pinching places on the back of your knee. It has super strong velcro to provide maximum adhesion and to ensure a strong and durable hold. The inside is lined with jacquard lycra to minimize skin irritation or rash. With the 4 point system it is less likely to slip or slide down the leg during movement (would be great support for the knee in the gym). This information I found on the product. I also included a stock photo to show the sizing information of this product. Adjustable so one size fits most.
Once again I am very impressed with the quality of this brace and I'm a retired nurse so I have seen my share of braces. If you are in need of one for yourself then try it out here You won't be sorry on this one.
